The greatest emphasis is put upon general discipline and parents are requested to see that all the rules of the School are strictly observed. The School reserves the right to take action in such case of infringement of School Rules as may be judged necessary at the absolute discretion of the school authorities. This may include suspension, withdrawal or expulsion of any student from the school at anytime during the course of the year.
- Students may be detained after school to complete unfinished work or as punishment for any infringement of school rules. Students must conduct themselves with decorum in school at all times. They must be respectful and polite to all teachers and other school staff. No rude or rowdy behaviour will be tolerated.
- Any student who faces disciplinary action thrice for misconduct will be expelled from school.
- Since a stronger emphasis is put on English, students should speak in English both in and out of the classroom except when Bangla class is in progress. During Bangla class students must speak in good Bangla with proper pronunciation.
- The use of slang and colloquialism in any language is discouraged. Abusive or swear words are emphatically forbidden. Any student using such language will be punished severely and may even be expelled.
- No toys, cosmetics, cell phone, ornaments, records, cassettes, CDS, comic books or film magazines are allowed in the school. Students found in possession of any of these will be severely punished and may even be expelled. (Except Play Nursery)
- Student will be penalized for any damage done to school properties.
- We have noted with a sense of increasing concern that roadside vendors selling unhygienic and unsanitary food do a brisk business on weekdays outside the school premises. The school cannot be expected to assume the liability in cases of fatal food poisoning which may be a consequence of eating unhealthy food outside school premises.
- Prefects and Monitors are appointed to assist in the enforcement of school discipline.
- Misconduct on the part of the student leading to suspension (exceeding two) may lead to outright expulsion.
- The school cannot be held responsible for any unauthorized absences especially when the student has not entered the school premises and has not been marked present.
DISCIPLINE: FOR PARENTS/GUARDIANS
- Parents are requested to see that all the school rules are observed meticulously. In the case of infringement of school rules, the school reserves the right to take such action as deemed necessary. This may include withdrawal or expulsion of the student from the school.
- Any notice from school must be acknowledged by the parents and duly signed and returned to the school on the following day.
- Student should be collected from school as soon as classes are over each day.
- Parents are advised not to send their children to school if they have any infectious disease.
- Parents are requested to provide their children with tiffin, drinking water, hand towel and extra clothing (Play and Nursery children).
- Parents are not allowed to enter the classrooms during school hour because it causes a lot of inconvenience and hampers the academic atmosphere of school. Parents/Guardians are requested to refrain from entering the school premises during school hours unless it is to pay the fees or for any official purposes.
- Students selected to represent Drexel as a team in different sport competitions must attend the practice sessions. It is compulsory for the students to have at least 80% attendance at such practice sessions.
- Participation in any school activity is a part of the school curriculum. Though passing exams successfully is very important, nevertheless extra-curricular activities are equally important, because these also assist a student to a certain extent, to get the opportunity to study abroad.
TRAFFIC RULES:
Parents are requested to make sure that on the way to their school the children do not leave their school bags in the boot of the car but carry with them. In this way they will not have to wait for the driver to take out their bags. This would save time and ensure the smooth flow of traffic and help the children to get to school on time.
Cars should not turn around in front of the school building instead they should drive straight down the road. Parking in front of the school gates is forbidden.
Drivers should move away quickly from the entrance of the school after dropping their charges and should observe the traffic rules. They should also ensure that vehicles are parked in such a manner that they do not impede the flow of traffic Double parking is strictly forbidden.
The school Security Guards and Traffic Wardens have been instructed to ensure that the Traffic Code is observed by all drivers. Drivers should not argue or misbehave with Security Guards and Traffic Wardens since they will only be carrying out their duties. Drivers should also be warned that owners will be informed if they do not observe the Traffic Code peacefully. To minimize the time spent in taking the children off the car (because stopping the car on the road is the main cause of the congestion), cars should be parked on a side road and students must walk to the school gate. Guard and Ayas will help them.
Car horns should not be used because they serve no purpose except to disturb the neighbours.
